Dead At Last

Nine years, seven months and twenty days after 9/11 we have justice. What is really great is, it wasn’t done by drone or a bomb, it was done by an American standing a few feet away looking him dead in the eye.

I understand the reasoning  for  disposing of his body in a way that was respectful to the Muslim religion.  The President reasoned that any disrespect would have inflamed Muslims who may have otherwise been happy about his death or at least uncaring.

While I understand the reasoning, I would have done things a bit differently.

I would have paraded his body dressed in drag (beard gone, full makeup)  through every major city in the US. Then I would have used a garbage incinerator to cremate his rotting corpse and disposed of his ashes in a port-a-potty in the middle of Central Park.

Seriously, do you think  Al-Qaeda concerns themselves with ensuring their Christian victims get a good Christian burial? Have you ever heard of these people burying any non-Muslims in the tradition of their religion ?

I think most Muslims in the world would have understood that the disrespect wouldn’t  have been aimed at the Muslim religion, it would have been aimed solely at Osama Bin Laden. The only Muslims who would have taken offense would have been extremist and they have anyway.

Unfortunately the President has to look at the international implications of anything he does and cannot do as most of us would have liked in this instance. Just one more of the many many reasons I am not President of the United States.
